Hosting Thanksgiving is a labor of love. There’s the planning, the shopping, the cooking, the cleaning, and somehow you’re still expected to look cute and calm when everybody walks through the door. If you’re feeding a big family this year, I see you.

Here’s the thing I learned the hard way: the stress usually isn’t the cooking. It’s the five different store runs because you forgot the rolls, ran out of foil pans, or realized at 9pm on Wednesday that nobody bought dessert.

That’s why I do my big Thanksgiving shop at Sam’s Club. Buying in bulk makes sense when you’re feeding 10, 15 or 20 people, and their Member’s Mark bakery and party basics are some of the best values I’ve found.

This is my Sam’s Club Thanksgiving shopping list for 2026, the things I’d grab to feed a crowd without losing my mind (or my whole paycheck).

Quick Sam’s Club Thanksgiving Shopping List

How I Plan a Big Family Thanksgiving Shop

Before I ever walk into Sam’s Club, I make three lists: the main dish, the sides and desserts, and the hosting supplies (pans, plates, foil, drinks). That last list is the one everybody forgets.

I also plan for leftovers. If you’re hosting, you’re going to be sending plates home, so you need way more containers and foil pans than you think.

Prices and availability can change and may vary by club or online, so always double-check before you go.

1. Butterball Whole Turkey

The star of the show. Sam’s Club carries whole turkeys in a range of sizes, and they’re priced by weight, so the final cost depends on how big you go.

A good rule of thumb is about 1 to 1.5 pounds of turkey per person if you want leftovers (and you want leftovers).

Before you buy:
A frozen turkey needs about 24 hours in the fridge for every 4 to 5 pounds to thaw. A 20-pound bird needs 4 to 5 days. Plan ahead!

Mom tip:
Buy your turkey the weekend before Thanksgiving so it has plenty of time to thaw.

2. Member’s Mark 12″ Pumpkin Pie, 58 oz.

Member’s Mark 12" Pumpkin Pie, 58 oz.

Current price: Around $5.98

This pie is legendary. It’s a 12-inch, almost four-pound pumpkin pie for around $6, and it’s in the carts of thousands of shoppers right now with hundreds of reviews.

Honestly, it’s hard to make a pumpkin pie at home for less than this, especially when you factor in your time.

Why I like it for families:
It feeds a crowd, it tastes homemade, and it frees you up to focus on the main meal.

Mom tip:
Grab two. One for dessert, and one for Friday morning with coffee.

3. Member’s Mark 12″ Pecan Pie, 56 oz.

Current price: Around $12.98

Every family has the pumpkin people and the pecan people. This pecan pie makes sure everybody’s happy.

It’s the same big 12-inch size, so it goes a long way at the dessert table.

Best for:
Big families, potlucks and anybody who says pumpkin pie “isn’t a real dessert.”

4. King’s Hawaiian Original Dinner Rolls, 32 ct.

King’s Hawaiian Original Dinner Rolls, 32 ct.

Current price: Around $6.68

Nobody is making rolls from scratch on Thanksgiving when King’s Hawaiian exists. These are soft, sweet and gone in minutes.

A 32-count pack for under $7 works out to roughly 21 cents per roll.

Why I like it for families:
The kids love them, the adults love them, and they make the best leftover turkey sliders on Friday.

5. Member’s Mark Aluminum Steam Table Pans, Half Size (100 ct.)

Member’s Mark Aluminum Steam Table Pans, Half Size (100 ct.)

Current price: Around $42.24

This is the hosting item nobody talks about but everybody needs. Foil pans are how you cook the sides, serve the food and send leftovers home without losing your good dishes.

A 100-count pack sounds like a lot, but if you host Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays and cookouts, you’ll use every one of them.

Why I like it for families:
Less dishwashing and easy leftover plates.

Before you buy:
Not hosting that much? Sam’s also has smaller packs and full-size pans. Check the count before you buy.

6. Kraft Original Macaroni and Cheese, 18-Pack

Current price: Around $14.96

Let me be honest: sometimes the kids won’t eat the fancy baked mac and cheese. A box of Kraft on standby keeps the kids’ table happy and saves you from a Thanksgiving meltdown.

It’s also great for the busy weeknights after the holiday when you just can’t cook another big meal.

Mom tip:
Keep it in the pantry. It saves the day more often than you’d think.

7. Bulk Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes and Green Beans

Sam’s Club’s produce section is where you can stock up on the Thanksgiving basics: big bags of potatoes for mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes for casseroles, and fresh green beans.

Buying these in bulk makes the most sense when you’re cooking for a crowd, because these are the sides everybody goes back for.

Before you buy:
Plan your sides first and only buy what you’ll actually cook. Bulk is only a deal if it doesn’t go to waste.

8. Party Paper Plates, Napkins and Cups

Unless you want to spend Thanksgiving night washing 40 plates, stock up on heavy-duty paper plates, napkins and cups.

Sam’s Club has big packs of sturdy plates that can hold a full holiday plate without folding in half.

Why I like it for families:
More time with family, less time at the sink.

9. Sparkling Cider and Drinks

Thanksgiving needs a toast. Sparkling cider is festive, kid friendly and perfect for the whole table.

While you’re there, grab bulk water, sodas and juice boxes so nobody is running out for drinks halfway through dinner.

Mom tip:
Chill everything the night before so your fridge isn’t overflowing on Thanksgiving morning.

10. Cheese, Crackers and Charcuterie Basics

Guests always arrive hungry, and dinner is never ready on time. A simple charcuterie board with cheese, crackers, salami and fruit keeps everybody happy while the turkey finishes.

Sam’s Club’s deli and cheese section makes it easy to build a big board for less.

Why I like it for families:
It buys you time in the kitchen and makes your table look abundant.
